FLAME RESISTANT RAIN GEAR
When your job puts you at risk for thermal hazards and other threats, the last thing you need to add to the list is rain. Heavy rain and high winds can be dangerously distracting and become hazards themselves. Most standard rain gear is made of meltable and flammable materials that do not comply with industry safety standards, that's why it's important to equip workers in the oil and gas and electric utility industries with the proper flame resistant and arc-rated (FR/AR) rainwear. Bulwark flame resistant, arc rated rainwear protects you in harsh weather conditions, so you can stay dry and go about your day.
So, what should you be looking for when it comes to FR/AR rain gear? First and foremost, look for rainwear that is compliant to protect against your assessed hazard, based on your hazard assessment, and is labeled correctly. Additionally, when it rains it pours, so you should look for FR/AR rainwear that meets ANSI 107 for high visibility—so your guys can stay seen to stay safe. Finally, as with any PPE, it's important to select flame resistant rain gear that fits well. Too small, and it can restrict your range of motion. Too big, and it can catch on equipment and cause accidents.
Rest assured, all Bulwark FR rainwear is NFPA® 2112 certified and/or arc rated. It is tested to the highest standards and offers guaranteed FR protection for the life of the garment. Layer up with one of our FR Base Layers for even more protection.
